The second week of Dressember went by, mostly, without a hitch. We celebrated Festivus with our family, and generally stayed the heck inside because it was C-O-L-D COLD outside. That random cold snap has now seemed to pass (for now), thankfully! Hoping Christmas isn’t too cold.
Here’s how I wore my dress this last week:
plaid shirt: thrifted // necklace: Finity Handmade
sweater: thrifted // tights: Black Milk
socks: American Apparel
sweater: thrifted // leggings: Romwe
shirt: thrifted // tights: Target // belt: thrifted
scarf: gift // leggings: SweetLegs
Dressember 2016 has been flashing by. There’s about a week and a half left of it. So far, as a collective group, we’ve raised over $700kUSD! It’s so amazing to be part of such a great organization, and I’m so happy to be able to contribute a little bit. Wearing a dress is the easy part, the work that IJF and A21 do, that’s the hard part. And the money raised will go a long way to help women who are stuck in human trafficking.
If you have it on your heart to donate, my campaign page is here. <3
Since I’ve been feeling like I’ve been in somewhat of a style rut lately, I decided to look back at some of the outfits I posted when I first started my blog back in 2012. At the time, I was a university student, living in a fab apartment. I was in my first year of marriage, and decided to start a personal style blog because I wanted to play around with what I wore more.
Here are some of my faves from the first few months of blogging:
I still love this outfit!! And I specifically remember what happened to that necklace. I was writing a midterm and it broke and the beads went EVERYWHERE. It was so embarrassing. In that blog post, I said that I was going to make something new out of the necklace. Haha so much for that, because three years later and I still haven’t. Oh well, it’s the thought that counts, right?
Still wear everything except for the skirt haha just a little too short for the things I do on a daily basis. And I’m pretty sure I gave it away last year in my April Decluttering Challenge. Oh Well! I love that sweater!
Wow. That photo is straight up blurry. It’s so crazy what I thought passed as a good photo three years ago. At least I tried? haha yikes!
That “dress” now barely covers my baby bump. True story.
I love that skirt! I can’t wait to wear it again 🙂
I find it so funny how at the time I would just take my outfit photos in my living room and it didn’t matter how junky it looked behind me, because I thought people would focus on the outfit? In my defense, that was a REALLY cold winter. As soon as it started getting nicer out, I started taking my photos outside with nicer backgrounds. 😉

30 weeks down, 10 to go! Yipes. I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by. It’s like 2 months away and I’ll have a son. Unbelievable!
This last week has been a little rougher than the previous ones. We’ve got our daughter back in her bucket seat and that thing is HEAVY. It’s not easy to carry her plus anything else I need to bring anywhere. But I’m getting by. I just need to rest often, that’s all 😉
Otherwise, I’ve been feeling lots and lots of kicks. I felt hiccups once, which is definitely a change from how much I felt hiccups in my last pregnancy (every night as soon as I lay down). But the kicks and things are nice. Plus, it seems like Autumn is starting to grasp the idea of there being a baby coming. We’re telling her all the time about her brother, and she just started to hug my belly and pat it when we talk about how her baby brother is in there. It’s pretty adorable.
The little chicken nugget is currently about the size of a store bought loaf of sliced bread! His skin is getting smoother and he’s strong enough now to grasp a finger. <3 I’m so excited to meet him!

23 weeks in! That’s 17ish weeks to go!
As of right now, the baby is the size of a fertility idol or a grapefruit. Apparently, he’s forming nipples this week. His face is fully formed, he just needs to get a little more plump, just a little cuter. At this point in time, he can hear our voices. So I’d like to start singing to him and stuff, so he knows my voice.
For me, I had been experiencing some round ligament pain… but since I got a super cute water cup, I’ve been drinking more water, and that has helped cut down on the soreness. My midwife had told me that water is even more important in winter pregnancies than in summer ones because of how dry it gets in the winter with the heating on in houses. So, I’ve been drinking more water.. and I definitely feel better!
Otherwise, this little one is super active in there. Lots of kicking! It’s especially fun for me when I’m nursing Autumn and he starts kicking. I can’t wait for these two to meet each other.

According to the internet, today is “Blue Monday”. Apparently, there’s some pseudo-science that says that the third Monday of January is the most depressing Monday of the year? Or something like that. I could totally see how that might happen, especially living in Winnipeg. January is the worst in Winnipeg bc everything is frozen and yuck. It’s so easy to hibernate here, especially at this point in January. And especially as someone who doesn’t like being outside and is always cold regardless.
But it’s also Monday, so for me that means going on my “mama break” — grocery shopping All By Myself. We worked it out that I go grocery shopping after bedtime because the store I shop at is open until 11:00pm, and it’s so great that it is! Every so often we have a little bit of a late bedtime, so I know I still have tons of time to get groceries. PLUS, there is a Starbucks on the way-ish to the store, so I get to pick up a nice hot beverage on the way. Then, I get to take my time and go up and down every aisle. It’s really nice.
So, that’s how I’ll be beating the Blues this Blue Monday, how do you plan on making today less depressing?

Well, another Dressember campaign is over! I think that it went pretty well this year. I wore the same dress all month, and mostly managed to wear different accessories with it! By the end of the month, I was getting pretty tired of wearing the same thing every day, and I have a feeling I probably won’t be wearing that dress again for a good long while. And, seeing how I felt at the end of the month, I’m pretty sure that means I’ll do the same thing again next year and only wear one dress all month. Though, next time I’ll choose a dress that doesn’t tie at the neck. I found it really dug into my neck by the end of the day and it wasn’t super comfortable.
I’m still raising money as well, you can check out my fundraising page here. We’re still collecting money until the end of January, so there is still time to donate if you haven’t yet! <3
Another week of Dressember over! And it happened to be the busy busy week of Christmas, so I have quite a few more phone photos than I do actual camera photos. I would be pretty occupied all day, and then get to the very end of the day and realize that I hadn’t taken my Dressember photo yet. Using my phone is just a little faster 😉
Here’s how I styled my dress this week:
dress: Sirens // sweater: Banana Republic // socks: Forever 21
cardigan: thrifted // scarf: thrifted // leggings: gift
cardigan: thrifted // tights: Joe Fresh // socks: Target // scarf: gift
ugly Christmas sweater: made by my mom // hairband: Forever 21 // tights: etsy (not sure what shop)
cardigan: thrifted // socks: Target
scarf: gift // cardigan: gift // socks: American Apparel
socks: Target // tights: Joe Fresh // cardigan: gift // necklace: gift
There are only a few days left of Dressember (and of 2015!) but there’s still lots of time to donate something if you would like to! Check out my fundraising page here if you can donate something. Remember, every dollar counts, and everything goes towards the rescue of those stuck in human trafficking all over the world.
Another week of December over, AND it’s now the week of Christmas!! Time to get all the last minute stuff done (or, time to give up on the fact that the things you thought you were going to have done by now are never going to get done… you know, one or the other 😉 )
Here’s how I styled my dress this past week:
dress: Sirens // shirt: Wet Seal // tights: Joe Fresh // hairband: Forever 21

Another week down! This time a full week. There were definitely a few days that I would have liked to have stayed in my pjs, but got dressed anyway. Plus, a couple of holiday events and parties so I was about to dress up even more!

Week one of Dressember is over, and so far it’s been pretty great! This year, I’m wearing the same dress every day, only I’m styling it differently. The challenge will be trying to find different accessories every day. Considering I’ve already wanted to wear the same cardigan two days in a row, there might be some exact repeat outfits… but we’ll see how that goes!
Here is how I styled my dress this week:
Dressember 1st (with a little baby photo bomb!)
Dress: Sirens // Cardigan: Gift // Socks: American Apparel // Necklace: Gift
Tights: Joe Fresh // Cardigan: Joe Fresh // Scarf: Gift
Sweater: Old Navy // Socks & Hairband: Forever 21
Cardigan: Thrifted // Socks: American Apparel
jean shirt: thrifted // tights: Joe Fresh // necklace: Icing
Tights: Forever 11 // Shoes: Le Chateau // Shirt: Material Girl // Necklace: Prairie Blossoms Etsy // Baby: homemade
You can find my Dressember profile here! Please consider making a donation. All the money supports two amazing organizations who fight hard to rescue those stuck in human trafficking and sexual slavery all over the world.
If you can’t donate, please share my posts, on Instagram, Twitter, etc, to help spread the word.
