Last week, I celebrated my 33rd birthday! On the actual day, I spent time with my bff and her daughter (the kids played together, mostly nicely haha) and had some amazing fried chicken from a local place for dinner with my family. I also got my free Starbucks birthday treat, which is very important to celebrating my birthday.
On Friday, a few of us went to sing karaoke! I did a Britney Spears themed party, where we all dressed up like our favourite rendition of our girl Britney. I decided to do my (thrift store) take on her circus outfit, Andrew went as K.Fed, and my friends picked their own faves. I don’t have any pictures of this, because we were ~~living in the moment 😉 😉 😉 But I’m telling you, it was awesome!
Karaoke has been a favourite of mine for years and years, and in fact I am pretty sure that I did karaoke for my 23rd birthday party, too. I’ve been going to the same bar for all that time, too, which other places mixed in here and there, but the Limelight is a favourite of ours. It’s changed a lot over the years and is really nice now!
We had a babysitter, and I had a designated driver, and I decided to have a few drinks! I don’t really drink that much any more.. a side effect of being pregnant twice, and having two little ones at home. I can’t really drink all that much all that often. So since we had the opportunity, I had a few more drinks than I normally would have. I was a little buzzed, but not drunk. Not by any stretch of the imagination. And wouldn’t you know? The next morning I woke up with a killer headache and felt like crap all day. It was incredibly unfair but #thisis33 😉
What’s your favourite thing to do for your birthday?
sweater: Banana Republic // pants: second hand (Thyme Maternity)
Now that Dressember is officially over (and the dress is all clean and hanging back up in my closet), I joked that January would be yoga-pants-uary, or maternity-pants-uary. It hasn’t really been either, but the maternity pants are officially out!
I purchased these pants at a second hand sale put on twice a year by the Manitoba Families of Multiples group. It’s a pretty amazing sale. Everything is absolutely adorable, and fairly priced, and a lot of the stuff hadn’t been worn even once. When I was pregnant with Autumn, I was pregnant during the summer so I basically lived in dresses, mostly maxi dresses. Since I’m pregnant in the winter this time, I’m not so sure that I’ll be able to wear them as much, so having these pants is going to be pretty amazing. And I this horizontal stripes were made for baby bumps, so I love wearing this sweater, too 😉
Happy Monday <3
sweater: JC Penney // tank: thrifted // sweats: Victoria’s Secret Pink // scarf: gift
So this is what life has looked like lately. Between some weight gain issues (Autumn), some colds (both of us) and not wanting to get dressed (me), these sweatpants have been amazing. I’ve committed the cardinal fashion crime though and worn them out in public… but to be fair it was mostly just to the Doctors office and to the homes of my parents! Now that it’s getting nicer out, I will be wearing “real” clothes again 😉
What cardinal fashion crimes have you committed lately in the name of coziness?
maternity pants: thrifted (Thyme Maternity) // shirt: thrifted (American Apparel) // cardigan: gift (Roxy) // necklace: gift // flower: F21 // scarf: Wet Seal
It took me a while, but now that I’m in my 8th month of pregnancy, I FINALLY have a pair of maternity pants! You know, the kind with the elastic band that comes up over the belly? And I gotta say, they’re pretty much amazing! I thought that I didn’t want to get pants like this, but I was a fool. These pants are amazing, and they make it so much nicer for the weather to get cooler now that it’s fall. I can see myself wearing them lots this month. The best part though? I got them for the low low price of $2 at a massive baby stuff sale in the middle of September. SO great!
Now to figure out what I can wear with them 😉
