I never thought I would be a crop top kind of gal, but here we are!  I’ve had this top in my drawer for a really long time before I braved it, and then I put it with this skirt and loved it, so I’ve worn it a bunch of times since then.

Life has been a little fast paced and exciting lately!  I’ve participated in a couple of Farmer’s Markets this summer, and woah! That was a LOT of work haha.  I don’t sell food, so I don’t think I did as well as the people who did sell food, but it was a good experience.  I’ve learned that I don’t want to do farmer’s markets anymore.  Both times I was in direct sunlight all day and came home with a sunburn and mild heat stroke.  Oops! Oh well, live and learn 😉

Otherwise, I’ve been so busy dreaming up ideas for new projects and new things to offer in May Market! Our next sale is coming up on September 1 and 2, and I’m SO excited to share the things we’ll have in it!  It’s all about fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and everything pumpkins!  I am so in love with everything so far.

What’s new in your life?

Life Lately…

It’s been so busy around here lately.  There’s been so much going on, and I swear that these last few months have been on fast forward.  Of course it’s gonna feel like that, because it’s already March.  The last few months of a baby’s first year always seem to go by super fast, it’s science.

We’ve been doing a lot of things lately, and it’s been a lot of fun.   As I updated yesterday, Aiden has been crawling more and more, and getting into things.  It’s so much fun to see how curious he is about his surroundings.  Of course, that means that I need to get back on top of cleaning up.. because there’s nothing so talented and magical as a baby to find the one spec that you missed sweeping.  Oh well, it’ll build his immune system, right? 😉

We are a one vehicle household, and usually I don’t get to use the car, but lately, we’ve been able to!  So we did a bunch of different things as a little family during the day.  We went to the new Save On Foods, and it is fantastic.  We went to the Children’s Museum, which was a lot of fun.  We were also able to go visit friends during the day.  It’s nice to be able to get out and do things during the day, though it’s also a little nutty.  Luckily, for the most part, it’s been warmer lately, so Autumn will actually walk to the car.  It’s sooooo nice that she’s finally on board with the snow… you know, just as it’s about to be gone haha

The beginning of March, I had the May Market on facebook, and so I was working toward that a lot.  I’m also in general working on creating more bonnets for my etsy shop.  I’m excited to share the bonnets I’ve made!  Watch the shop, new things will be listed soon!

Otherwise, I’ve been working on my temperature blanket.  It’s nice to have a little bit of something to do every day.  I am pretty sure that my technique is improving, too.

What have you been up to lately? <3

Happy Day: what’s the up?

flowering tree

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted, so I thought I’d do a little catch up!  It’s been a really busy few days, too.  Of waiting, of celebrating, of waiting more…

  1. I had two fetal assessments last week, and they measured my baby at 8lb 11oz. Which isn’t too bad! And good fluid levels.  What was nice was that Andrew got to come and see the baby in the ultrasound, since he hadn’t seen him yet.
  2. We celebrated all day Saturday, pretty much.  We had a first birthday party to attend, and then a graduation party! It was a great day filled with friends and family.
  3. On Sunday, I laboured all day and gave birth!! This is definitely the biggest thing that happened in the last few days haha.  But he’s here, he’s wonderful, he’s healthy & I love him so much.  I’ll post more details later.
  4. Getting settled as a family of 4 has been good so far.  Looking forward to seeing how my two children get along with each other as they grow <3

Hope your weekend was excellent as well!

Five on Friday!

This has been another busy, busy week, but in the best way possible!  My decluttering challenge is keeping me moving around for sure.  I keep looking around my house and seeing different areas where I can get rid of some stuff.  But it’s hard to declutter when there’s a little one grabbing at everything and putting in on the ground, aka: a place where things no longer exist because I cannot pick them up!!  Luckily, my husband is here to tidy up the floors, otherwise it would be quite the obstacle course.

Here are five other things that have been exciting this week:

ONE: THE WEATHER!!
I am so excited that it’s FINALLY in the positives around here! Monday was a little frigid, but it picked up from there and we’ve been going on walks … without coats!  I just love it.  I went on quite a few walks with Autumn in the stroller, and I feel so much nicer about the area and stuff.  Plus, there are a few parks around here and it’s so much fun to go to them with Autumn.  I can’t wait until she’s walking/running around at the park.  It’ll be so great.

TWO: NEW CHURCH
We’ve been church shopping, and it’s been slow going.  But we went to one that we really like last Sunday, and I went to a mom’s group there this week, and I am loving it so far!  We’re going to check it out again this Sunday as well.  It’s a less than 5 minute drive from our house, too, and everyone is so friendly and welcoming!  I love it 🙂

THREE: MY CLOSET
I am still in love with my closet.  I organized it all nicely, and I have hangers in only two colours, and it just looks so pretty.  I could hang out in there, I just love it <3

The Vintage Honey Shop Necklace Review

FOUR: THE VINTAGE HONEY SHOP
A while ago, I reviewed an amazing teething necklace (here) made by a fabulous shop run by two mamas in the US.  This week, they had their facebook page hacked, they received emails that demanded ransom, and facebook took their sweet time getting back to them.  Luckily, they got their page back now!! But it definitely made their sales take a hit, as well as their likes.  Check out their facebook page here, now totally free from hackers, and give them a like! They make amazing products.

FIVE: SWIMMING LESSONS
Autumn started her swimming lessons last week, and so far she seems to (mostly) be enjoying them.  I was not interested in being in the water at all, and Andrew was a total water baby.  So Autumn could have gone either way.  She seems to be mostly ok with it, with some trepidation.  But by the end of the 10 weeks, I’m sure we’ll have a little water baby on our hands… just as long as we don’t take away the rubber ducky.

How was your week?

Life Lately

It’s been a week since I’ve posted, and I can’t believe it.  Can October please just slow down? I’m not ready for November tbh.  Normally I wouldn’t say anything and just carry on, but it’s just been such a hectic week that I want to share what we’ve been up to around here lately.

  1. Canadian Election
Last week was the Election (which I posted about here), and I am SO happy about the results!  I can definitely celebrate the results by doing all the Canadian things I listed in my post.  Still need to get some poutine though!
  2. Craft Projects
I mostly feel like I’m not doing enough, but I also feel like I’m doing things All. The. Time, so it can’t really be both, can it?  Either way, I have a specific deadlines for myself for things, and I’m not meeting them and it’s making me frustrated.  I can do it!! I just need to … do it.
  3. Autumn’s birthday!
She’ll be one in just under 2 weeks (aah) and I have a lot to do!! I still don’t know all the food I’m going to serve, and I don’t know what gift to get her.  There’s a lot to think about
  4. In general
I don’t know if I would call it seasonal affectiveness persay, but I get bummed out when the weather starts to get crappy.  It hasn’t been THAT BAD here, thankfully, but it’s colder in the house more often.. which means it’s colder outside, too.  Blah.  All I can do is think about Christmas and feel better 😉

What have you been up to lately?

Alysa
