2 weeks (or so) to go! This is gettin’ real 😉 Time to finish all the things so that we’re totally ready for baby. I’ve been keeping on top of laundry, so hopefully we won’t have a build up like last time. I’ve been keeping on top of general cleaning, so hopefully it won’t be a total disaster. And I’ve got a well stocked freezer full of meals we will just need to remember to take out the night before so that they’re ready to go for the day we need them. I want to do a big deep clean of all of my cloth diapers, including the ones that Autumn wears. Just because it’ll be nice to do it! We still need to get all the pictures on the walls of the nursery, and get everything in there put away. But I feel like that’s about all! That, and all the upcoming appointments. I had my 38 week appointment yesterday, and Autumn has her 18 month checkup tomorrow, so it’s a busy week! And then Mother’s Day is on Sunday, and I’m pretty excited about what we’re giving our moms for it. Can’t wait to give it to them!
At this point, my little chicken nugget is about the size of a chopped firewood log, an Oscar statuette or a bucket of fried chicken! He’s growing really nicely in there. He may have an inch or so of hair already, but we’ll see! Autumn didn’t have much hair at birth, so it would be fun if he had a lot of hair.
I’ve been feeling pretty good, mostly. I think that the B-12 injections are helping. I was thinking about this on Sunday and I think that, overall, I really do enjoy being pregnant. Of course, there are things that I don’t like about it.. like the fact that I’m uncomfortable, and how I have trouble staying asleep because I can’t sleep on my stomach like I really want to.. but there are so many great things about it, too. I love seeing how my body changes to accommodate a little one. I love seeing my midsection grow. And, of course, the end result is pretty fabulous. <3

Now that it’s officially Autumn (yay)!! I thought I’d share what has been essentially my mom uniform for the last little while. Since it’s (slowly) been getting (slightly) cooler, I’ve basically been wearing this exact outfit for the last couple of weeks, just trade out the specific sweater and pants.
These pictures also give a pretty good glimpse into a very important part of my day. Nap time!! Autumn is still napping twice a day, so I get some time during the day to get things done! For the longest time, she had been sleeping in my arms, but she’s now fully sleeping in her crib for her naps, and I’m so glad that she is. It was nice getting in the extra cuddles, but it’s also nice to be able to do things, like drink my coffee… and watch her sleep in the video monitor 😉 But for real, I only do that sometimes haha
The other thing is, usually I would make the room look as clean and tidy as possible, but for the mom uniform photos, I really wanted to give an impression of what this mom-business is really like. And it can be messy. There’s toys everywhere, there are blankets and pillows strewn about. And I love it!
Happy 1st day of Autumn!

There really is something to being able to get away and spend some time in the woods for a little while. I was able to relax, read (a LOT), lay out in the sun. It was a great week away. But I was definitely happy to be back in the city when the time came.
At my cottage, we have this nice little forest leading in, which means that we have a little bit of privacy from the main road. We can still hear the (very few) cars going by, but not much else. It’s nice to have that kind of privacy and seclusion, while at the same time still having the option to go join people on the beach, at the park or at the Moonlight Inn.
I love Victoria Beach!
Le Sac Dress: American Apparel
I haven’t worn this dress in FOREVER, and I can’t figure out why. I’m trying to not over wear clothes and instead pick things that I don’t wear often. When I wash my clothes, I always put them in on the right side of the closet, so lately I’ve been trying to wear things that are on the very left side. For the most part, it’s either Halloween costumes or sweaters (neither of which I want to wear right now), which makes it hard not to re-wear clothes that I’ve just put back. All my summer things are on the right side of the closet! But this dress, it was almost all the way to the left and I could not tell you why. Especially when you consider how versatile it is! Maybe one day I will wear it in a different way every day for a week. Challenge accepted 😉

This was an exceptionally hot day in Moose Jaw. If you’ve ever been in the Canadian Prairies in the summer, you’ll know that it is scorching! I just have to say that overalls and a bandeau was SO COMFORTABLE to wear! It was such an amazing day because of how incredibly cool I was. It was awesome!! I highly recommend it 🙂
When I saw these overalls at the thrift store I was SO EXCITED! I don’t think I’ve worn overalls since maybe grade 6, it was cool to be able to go back to that. One major thing I noticed, though, was the way they fit. When I last wore overalls, I didn’t have any hips, so they just slid on. NOW, I have hips, so I had to actually unbutton the little buttons they have on the side to put them on. So weird!
What do you think about overalls? Is this a trend you would wear, or would you rather it got left in the 90’s?

The weather we’ve been having lately has been FANTASTIC! This past weekend was filled with parties! Andrew’s birthday was on Friday, so we celebrated that with his family for lunch. Then, we went to St Vital Park and had a little party with some of our friends for his birthday. Saturday night, we went to a birthday party for our friend, then there was ANOTHER party for her on Sunday. It was a super fun/super busy weekend and I didn’t look at statistics one time!!
As much fun as it was, I almost need a whole other weekend to rest from it! 😉
Hope your weekend was great, too <3

6 Things You Should Know about Me:
1. 6 is my favourite number!
It’s always been kind of a lucky number for me, and I like when things come in packages with six in them. I also just like how the word looks when it’s written out: six. It’s so fun! It probably helps that my birthday is the 6th of September, too 😉
2. I freaking LOVE glitter!
If I’m making something/painting something, I usually find a way to add glitter to it. Sometimes I just like looking at glittery things. I love glitter nail polish and wear it most of the time, despite how difficult it is to remove. Anything with glitter (pretty much) and I will love it.
3. I love dresses (as you may have noticed 😉 ).
I’d rather wear a dress or a skirt than jeans or pants. I just think that dresses/skirts are more fun than pants are.
4. I hate the word “slut”.It’s just not a nice word. Also, it doesn’t really exist. There is no such thing as a slut, truly. A woman can get called a slut by doing absolutely nothing. I wish this word would disappear.
5. Cheese is the best food and can go with anything.
I freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE Cheese! It’s amazing on pretty much everything. I think that sometimes I eat too much cheese, but I don’t really care? haha. It’s just so good! I was so happy a couple of weeks ago when we got SO MUCH CHEESE from the states for really really really cheap. It’s so expensive here. One time, I got a gift card for Sobeys from a student who was raising money that was worth $100. No joke, I could have spent all of that on cheese and been so happy. I don’t know how I was vegan for as long as I was tbh.
6. Starbucks is my lifeline.
I love Starbucks so much. Even just brewed coffee (which is around the same price as Tims, just saying). I just love the atmosphere there. I love studying there. I love the people who work there, they’re all so nice and friendly. If I’m having a bad day, going to Starbucks is a perfect pick-me-up. It’s like the baristas KNOW I’m having a bad day, so they’re extra nice to me. I love it there!
