Halloween 2017

I know it’s already a week after Halloween but I thought I’d still share our family costume with you!

This year for Halloween we went as Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell & Captain Hook!

It was so much fun. Autumn kept calling Aiden Peter Pan all day (as in “come here Peter Pan!”) it was adorable! His costume was from the Disney store, hers we already had, and I made her bun bonnet. My dress is from the thrift store and is J Crew brand and Andrews costume is made up of pieces he already had! It was great bc we didn’t end up spending tons on our costumes.

However, we were all getting through colds (especially Aiden) and so he got to help me give out candy to trick-or-treaters while Andrew and Autumn went out. It was a good Halloween!

Now to start planning for next years costume 😉

Xoxo,

Alysa

Birthday Wish List!

In less than a week, it’s my birthday! I like to make a fun little wish list every year, mostly as a hint-hint to my husband (who totally reads this daily 😉 <3) but also to give others ideas for fun things they could get!

Here is my birthday wish list for this year:

01 // Treasure Bath Bomb with Rose Gold Jewellery Inside
I love love love bath bombs, and the idea of a bath bomb with jewellery inside? AMAZING!  Plus, look at how freaking gorgeous the rose gold is.  This one is more than a want/desire, it is a NEED. I NEED THIS.

02 // Mermaid Dress
This one isn’t for me so much, but for my daughter. She’d be adorable in this and she loves mermaids haha it’s so cute! I love that print so much.

03 // Pumpkin Headband
This is SO cute. I would be wearing this all of October if I had it.  It would be perfect for basically any day, and it would match really well to a romper set I made for May Market. haha so perfect!

04 // Tinker Toes
I LOVE THESE! They are so adorable. I would want a pair for me and a pair for my daughter so we could match and look SOO CUTE!! 😀

05 // Pumpkin Earrings
To match the headband, of course 😉

06 // Hand-Painted Pillowcases
OHMIGOODNESS, these are freaking gorgeous. I want them SO MUCH! <3  I can’t stop looking at them, so gorgeous and there are a number of other one of a kind hand-painted pillowcases, so you should check out the whole album.

And there you have it, that is what I want for my birthday 😉

An Up inspired First Birthday

In true Alysalovely style, I am FINALLY sharing my son’s first birthday photos about three months after his first birthday.  Oops, I did it again!  At least it’s a trend and I’m not treating him any better or worse than my daughter, right?  Her first birthday post is here!

For Aiden, we put together an UP themed birthday party!  It is such a great movie, and it was so much fun to dream up all the things we put together for the party.  I am also excited to share it with you now!

In addition to all the actual helium balloons, I came up with a little game for the kids to play.  I cut out a bunch of construction paper balloons and taped them to the wall all over the main floor.  Kids could go around and count all the balloons, and if they got the answer right they won a prize! No one got it right haha they missed a few 😉

In the middle of putting helium in all the balloons.  That was such a fun thing to do.

In honour of Ellie, I painted a copy of the up house at the top of Paradise Falls.  I love how it turned out and it is still up in our living room now.  I also made him a chalkboard style poster with his stats, such as how many teeth he had at the time, and how much he weighed, and words he can say.  I find it really fun for guests to be able to see all that in one spot.

Aiden’s special cupcakes!  I found this edible paper at Michael’s, and I cut them into balloon shapes.  And I put the little paper UP house at the bottom.  I love the way it looked so much

His first cupcake! He loved it 🙂

I made him a little pilot hat for the day, and then totally forgot to put it on him for the entire party haha he was wearing his adorable UP shoes from Lanie’s Closet though <3

I made everyone Ellie Badges that we gave out as a party favour, and I had to have the jar for the Paradise Falls fund!

All the adults got Ellie Badges, and all the kids got a soda bottle shaped thing of bubbles!

All of Aiden’s monthly photos <3

I made Aiden a “My Adventure Book” and then had everyone write their wishes for baby on cards to put in the book.  It’ll be so fun for him to read them later in life <3

Some things are not pictured.  I made balloon shaped cookies, we got soda in glass bottles, and we had hot dogs and hamburgers.

Where we got things:
Shoes/1: Lanie’s Closet
Paper Up House: Disney Family
Ellie Badges: My Own Road Blog

Hope you enjoyed seeing the things we put together for Aiden’s UP themed birthday party! It was such a great day and it turned out being a really fun theme.

Alysa

Unicorn Love: Events

Hi All! I hope you are ready for more Unicorn items from Etsy, because I can not stop looking at all things unicorn! Today’s post is going to be about parties and events!  I went to a really fun unicorn themed first birthday almost a year ago, and it was such a cute theme.  I love how this theme has gained popularity in recent years, and there are so many great things you can get from etsy to help with your party.

Here are some of them:

01 // Magic Rainbow Unicorn Invitations
Have you seen this unicorn? It is so perfect.  AND this one is printable, so you just download it and you can print it yourself, as many as you need.  So great for if your guest list changes at all haha

02 // Party invitations number 2!
These invitations are SO CUTE y’all! They’ve updated their pics since I grabbed this one for my collage, and are even cuter.  I liked both of these sets so much I couldn’t pick just one.

03 // Unicorn Bag
This bag is so adorable, and what a cute way to either give a gift that matches the theme, or to give little goodie bags at the end of the party.  I just love the little eyelashes, too.

04 // Pom Pom Garland
This would be so adorable at a party and even just to have up as regular decor.  You could add this to a unicorn themed nursery or kids room, or you can have it on your mantle to give your room an extra little bit of sparkle.  This is the kind of party decoration that I would leave up well after the party is over.

05 // Party Favor Printable
This would be another super cute idea for party favors.  If you’re giving something small, you just pop this card on the front and then it works perfectly with your theme.  It’s also a printable, so you can print it up right at home, at your convenience.

06 // Unicorn Hair Accessories
This would be so sweet for an older child’s birthday party favour.  This one is a little bit spendier, but if your child is having his or her closest friends over, you would only have to get a couple.  Or, it could be a really cute bff present for your child and their friend.  So cute <3

07 // Unicorn Favor Bag
Another favor bag, but it’s too cute I couldn’t help it. You could fill this with little candies or something, and it would be a sweet little thank you for coming to the party for your guests.

08 // Magical Unicorn Card
Let’s say you’re attending a unicorn party?  What would be better than a little card that goes with the theme?  This card is so fun, and it would perfectly match any unicorn or magical party you’re invited to.

Who wants to go to a unicorn party now? 😉

You’re Invited: May Market!

In May of 2016, 10 lovely mamas had babies!  From different parts of North America, we were all connected with the fact that our babies shared a birth month.  Over time, we learned that we were all really crafty and had opened little shops to help provide for our families.  We decided that we should open a market on Facebook to showcase our talents and share our gifts with the world and the May Market was born!

The first Friday & Saturday of the month is usually when we put on our sales, and the 10 of us (plus a guest vendor) put things together that go along with a little theme.  This month’s sale is based around Back to School & HARRY POTTER!! And I am SO excited to share a sneak peek of the things that we will have in the sale.

All you have to do to see what we’ll have is visit the group here! And join!!

We hope to see you there <3

You’re Invited: May Market

One of the best things about becoming a mama in this day and age, for me, is the fact that everyone is SO connected.  I made friendships with women who were having babies at the same time as me through groups based on my due date for my little ones.  I have been in a group for my November 2014 baby since.. well, since we all started finding out we were expecting. It’s the same for my May 2016 baby!  And, in my May group, there are a few of us who are crafty and talented, and every month we have a little sale of the things that we’ve made!

Our next sale is March 1 & 2, and I would LOVE it if you would join our group to join in our sale!
You can find our May Market Group here!

This month the theme is St Paddy’s Day, and there will be baby bonnets, prints, bath bombs, jewellery, rompers & more <3

Hope to see you there!

Alysa

Our Valentine’s Day!

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and it was so much fun with two little ones this year.  Last year, we made some cute Valentines for our friends and family.  This year, Autumn coloured pre-made Valentines and we gave those to family.  It was a lot of fun!

This year was also really fun!  I spent the day with my two adorable little ones.  They wore special Valentine’s Day bonnets, and outfits I picked out special.  Autumn LOVES bunnies, so I was so happy to find this little shirt from Joe Fresh.  I was a little disappointed with the variety of Valentine’s Day clothes in the baby boy section, but I am in LOVE with the shirt I found for Aiden.  It’ll fit him for a while, too, which will be so great since it’s adorable!

For dinner, I made us pizza twists, and for dessert: Chocolate Lasagna! (though, a pink-ified version 😉 )

Then, what was probably the best Valentine’s Day present ever, both babies went to bed super easily and we got to have our romantic date night-in!  We watched Armageddon and had dessert, and Starbucks.

It was a lovely day <3

How was your Valentine’s Day?

xoxo,
Alysa
