I ♥ Winnipeg: Sub Zero

Yesterday was National Ice Cream Day, so I thought I’d share this great local ice cream place with you today! Not only is it a wonderful small and local shop, but we love it because we can walk there.  What can be better than being able to walk a short distance to get ice cream in the summer?  Nothing I can think of!  But it’s even worth it if you have to drive a little, because this shop truly rocks.

You can find them at 298 Jamison Ave in Elmwood.  They have a Facebook page here as well, if you want to check out their hours 😉  The owner is the nicest lady, and the shop is constantly crowded with ice cream lovers.  There are places to sit outside, and I believe that it is actually a Poke-stop as well, if you’re a Pokemon trainer!  The shop is LGBT owned and operated as well, they had a special parfait during Pride to celebrate.  They even have little treats for your dog, so they include everyone who might want a small treat.  I love going to Sub Zero because of how friendly and welcoming the owner and staff are.  It’s obvious that they care about the community and really want to get to know their customers.

My personal recommendation is to get the specialty parfait of the week.  I’ve never been disappointed.  Just remember to bring Cash!! That’s all they accept.

Where is your favourite ice cream shop?

xoxo,
Alysa
