Road Trip Style: Mount Rushmore!

The entire reason that we went to South Dakota for our one year anniversary was to take a visit to Mount Rushmore!  I never knew where it was located, and when I found out it was only two states away, I knew I needed to go visit.

It was really cool that we were able to go see Mount Rushmore ON our anniversary, too! Just the way it worked out that our anniversary was on a Sunday.  It took us two half days of driving to get there, and then a full day (literally) to get back home after.

As you can see, it was raining that day.  I was kind of upset, but then it also rained on our wedding day last year, so I figured it must be some kind of double good luck!  It also gave the monument the funny illusion that the presidents were all crying and/or had snot flowing out of their noses.  I guess it was just the way it was carved, but it was pretty funny 🙂

Hopefully next year it won’t rain on our anniversary! <3

  1. Mounh Rushmore was a nice place to visit. I went there during my exchange year I spent in Minnesota with bunch of other exchange students. It’s funny how they seem so much smaller than you’d think. Obviously movie cameras tend to get closer than where the platform is, but still. It was almost like “that’s it?” feeling for me.

It’s still a very beautiful place and worth visiting so I’m glad you got to go there
    and oh! Happy (belated) Anniversary
