The service they did today at my church was amazing! It’s something that they do every once in a while called “Sing a New Song” and generally, they sing all new songs.. but today was a little bit different than that! Instead of doing all new songs, they asked around and found out what songs meant the most to the community and did just those songs. It was awesome! Plus, they had two painters per service who painted as a worship response. I was one of the painters for the second service! It was my first time doing anything like that, and it was really awesome. I went in there not knowing what I was going to do and without a picture in my mind of what I would paint. The only thing I knew in advance was that I wanted to mix glitter with the paint. So, I brought glitter from home to be able to do that! I definitely want to get into painting more, it was amazing.
This past weekend, I’ve spent a lot of time getting ready for my impending midterm that is happening tomorrow morning at 8:30am. I’m not too worried about it, but I know that I need to prepare more for this one than I did on the last one. At any rate, on Friday my act of kindness was one where I didn’t even have to leave my apartment. I found out about a family who is having some struggles right now and needed a bit of help, and who goes to my church. Someone had set up a Meal Train for them, and I signed up to bring them something to eat for dinner on Friday! And I did one better …. or one lazier anyway. I ordered a pizza and had it delivered to their place. It was cool to be able to help them out in that way 🙂
On Saturday, my friend was having a birthday party where they were going to be outside for all of it. They had a cardboard battle and were in the park for a few hours. I studied during the battle part, and came for the hanging out by the fire part, and with me I brought a traveler of coffee from Starbucks! I think it went over pretty well, it was really cold out yesterday!
Two weeks left of Lent! I think it’s gone pretty well so far!
